Thoughts

The first time I saw Mick, he was waiting for Roisin at school pick-up. He was extremely dapper, smoking a roll-up, with a copy of the Guardian tucked under his arm. I thought: “blimey, he stands out from the crowd.” I was right. He really did. As luck would have it, our girls became good friends and we got to know this unusual man better over the ensuing years. Mick spoke so quietly that it could be difficult to hear him, but it was worth the effort. His opinions were always interesting and sometimes scathing, but never forcefully delivered. His knowledge of music was limitless. He often went to watch Aldershot Town play football, in order to describe the action to his visually impaired client. As an Aldershot supporter himself, Tony goes through this ordeal regularly and describes Mick's dedication as a selfless act by a very kind man! Sending all our love to the family. RIP Mick
